| Keith W. Carlson is a founding partner with the law firm of Carlson & Jayakumar LLP, where he practices all aspects of employment law, healthcare law, and related litigation. Mr. Carlson deals extensively with general employment issues, as well as employment and corporate issues affecting the healthcare industry. He also has experience – in both state and federal courts – in matters involving trade secrets, unfair competition, wage-and-hour claims, sexual-harassment claims, race-discrimination claims, disability-discrimination claims, wrongful-termination claims, business litigation, and representation before administrative agencies.
In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Carlson regularly advises clients on contractual matters affecting professional employee compensation, specifically with respect to compliance with federal and state fraud-and-abuse laws. He is a regular guest lecturer at medical and chiropractic schools on multi-specialty practices, employment law, and practitioner-compensation issues. In addition to healthcare topics, Mr. Carlson frequently speaks on employment and political matters. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, Labor & Employment and Healthcare Sections, and is an officer with the National Association of Chiropractic Attorneys. Mr. Carlson received his J.D. in 1997 from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. Mr. Carlson received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles where he graduated magna cum laude and was selected to Phi Beta Kappa. He was also awarded the Chancellor’s Service Award for excellence in community service. Mr. Carlson is also highly involved in his community. He has served on both the Chapman and Whittier Law School’s Board of Visitors, the Irvine Valley College Foundation, and Santa Ana Unified School District’s Bond Oversight. He is a co-founder and Chairman of the Board for Pacifica Christian High School—Orange County. He also served as the Chairman of the California Republican Lawyers Association. Mr. Carlson previously was elected to serve on the California Republican Party’s Board of Directors. He first served as the Vice-Chairman, South, representing Orange, Riverside, Imperial, and San Diego Counties. Mr. Carlson then served as the treasurer of the California Republican Party for over five years. He now serves on the Board of Directors for the Claremont Institute. |

| Kathy W. Nichols is a senior counsel at Carlson & Jayakumar LLP. She has practiced law since 2004 with a focus in business litigation. At Carlson & Jayakumar, Ms. Nichols practices healthcare law and represents a variety of clients including hospitals, physicians, licensed healthcare professionals, and professional corporations. Ms. Nichols has extensive experience representing licensed professionals before the California Medical Board and Board of Chiropractic Examiners from the investigation stage through trial. She also represents physicians and medical groups in Medicare and private healthcare insurance audits and fraud investigations. Ms. Nichols also advises physicians and medical groups regarding corporate and healthcare laws.
